Here in New York, the seasons come and go making our skin prone to constant texture changes while exposed to free radicals, and allergens. My skin has become very sensitive in the past few years & I'm finding more and more people like myself that need to change their skincare regiment with each season. Moisturizer is a crucial part of your skincare routine which should not be forgotten about. It is like putting on your seat-belt before you leave the driveway. It will protect from damage, soften texture, prevent ageing, and ensure that your makeup goes on more smoothly.
Here are some tips for finding the right moisturizer for you:
1- Determine weather your skin is dry, oily, combination, or normal. The best time to determine this is toward the end of the day when you've already been exposed to the elements.
2- Decide if you like a lightweight feel, creamy, or oily texture in your moisturizer. Everyone is different,
3- Pick a price point. You can absolutely find a great moisturizer at the drug store, but usually cannot test it until you get home. If shopping somewhere higher end, like Sephora, don't be afraid to ask for samples so you can try before you buy.
4- READ the back of the packages when shopping, so you know if you are okay with the ingredients in it.
Personally, my skin is combination to Oily. For the winter, I used CeraVe moisturizing cream to keep my skin balanced. Now with spring approaching, I am seeing a lot more oiliness throughout the day, so I felt it was time to switch to something more lightweight. Just a week ago started using the Replenishing Facial Moisturizer by Giovanni's Eco chic skincare D:tox line. I am already seeing huge improvements in my skin, not only in the texture, but in the clarity. This moisturizer is step 3 in the D:tox line, but if you already have a cleaner/toner that you love, you can just finish off with this product. This moisturizer has a combination of different plant based ingredients & essential oils (which will actually prevent your own skin from producing too much oil) and I would highly recommend it to anyone like myself with combo/oily skin.
This product is dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, organic, vegetarian, not tested on animals, AND 5% of sales goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Definitely a great buy for $9.95.
I found mine at Marshall's, but you can also purchase at www.giovannicosmetics.com
When it comes to heat styling your hair, there are many things you can do wrong. One of those things would be not using Sexyhair 450 Blow Out, because this stuff is AMAZING. My favorite thing about it is the smell. It has a coconut, tropical drink type scent to it, and lets be real, who .... doesn't want to smell like vacation? Not only does it smell great, but it leaves your hair soft, silky, shiny and healthy. A lot of people forget to use an oil or heat protector before blowdrying, which causes heat damage, spilt ends, and often just a dull, dry, unfinished look to your hair. This product is perfect for preventing those things. I bought sample sizes of this for myself and my friends and were all hooked!
Here are some suggestions for this item:
Step 1- After washing you hair, use a towel to absorb excess moisture until hair is damp.
Step 2- Spray on 450 blow out throughout hair (about 2-3 sprays)
Step 3 - Section hair & start blowdrying
Step 4 - Finish off your hair style and spray with Healthy Sexyhair soy hairspray for a natural look
Happy Styling! <3
